The Investment Credit Team Leader is responsible for managing the Investment Credit Team to ensure the accurate and timely underwriting and credit assessment of the Bank's investment, counterparty and vendor risk portfolios, as well as municipal ACH exposure, to support applicable Bank departments. Additional responsibilities include assisting the Project Manager with ad hoc projects to support the Credit Risk Management Team, managing completion of scheduled and unscheduled credit analyses, and staff development.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Support the Senior Credit Officer / Project Manager in ad hoc projects.
Manage day-to-day operations of investment underwriting team, including department workflow, timecards, and performance evaluations.
Coach and develop staff concerning investment underwriting, counterparty risk assessment and vendor credit analysis, along with associated projects and reporting requirements, along with periodic performance reviews.
Ensure timely and accurate completion of all credit reviews for new and existing investments, counterparties and medium/high financial risk vendors to support applicable Bank departments including: Investment Department, Corporate and Government Services, Accounting, Risk Management. This may include directly underwriting deals to support the team's workflow demands.
Monitor counterparty credit exposures (including correspondent banks) and provide periodic management reports to ensure compliance with bank policies and procedures.
Ensure CRM's policies and procedures concerning investment underwriting, counterparty credit assessment and vendor credit analysis are fully compliant with all applicable Bank policies and applicable banking regulations.
Prepare a quarterly report to senior management about the credit performance of the bank's investment portfolio.
Maintain and enhance risk acceptance criteria (RAC's) tools utilized to support credit assessments for Bank investments.
Conduct credit "pre-screens" involving original or secondary market issues for the Investment Department.
Review and approval for all vendor credit reviews.
Monitor national and global trends affecting the financial condition of states and municipalities, as well as monitor the evolving federal regulatory environment to identify new regulations, statutes and developments concerning the Bank's largest investment-related credit exposures.
