Wi-Fi Engineer

Primary Location – Philadelphia, PA

V-Soft Consulting is currently seeking a Wi-Fi Engineer for our premier client in Philadelphia, PA. This is a contract position in the telecommunications industry

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

Education and Experience »

• Comfort with Unix / Linux command line environments.
• Create test lab or customer environments for trouble shooting any defects or issues that may have originated in the field or captured during QA development cycles.
• Clearly understands and objectively interprets collected data without much needed help
• New Wi-Fi features validation, analysis and reporting of test results.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities »

• Knowledge of DOCSIS, TCP / IP, and Network Routing
• Testing, triage and feature validation of Wireless Gateways and Clients
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to quickly ramp up and test new projects.
• Able to pars raw Wi-Fi traffic data during RCA and validation efforts

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

Job Responsibilities »

• Systems Integration, Data Characterization and Analytics, and evaluation of new products
• Automation development and scripting languages (BASH, Python, Java Script, etc.)
• Intimate knowledge and understanding of 802.11 standards and associated performance, functional and inter-op (CE, CPE, etc.)
• Octoscope Solution, Ixia Veriwave, and other Wi-Fi related tools such as Ixia Chariot, iPerf, Channelyzer, Airmagnet, etc.
• Enhanced Wi-Fi feature testing.
• Excellent verbal ability to articulate and communicate test results and procedures to external teams
