Unemployment Hearing Representative
As a Hearing Representative, you will be providing representation for employer clients during unemployment compensation hearings. The Hearing Representative is essential to ensuring excellent customer service is provided to our clients. The Hearing Representative is responsible for analyzing individual case information by reviewing data accessed through the PC, document images, and client witness discussions.
As part of the Appellate Division, you will be responsible for preparing our clients and their witnesses to attend unemployment compensation appeal hearings and advocating on their behalf. This is a client-facing and deadline-driven role which requires you to remain up to date and knowledgeable about state-specific laws and statutes regarding UI benefits.
What you will do
- Determine and discuss strengths and weaknesses of individual unemployment compensation cases with client witnesses.
- Analyze facts (known and new) as well as documentation and draw conclusions as to how that may impact a case to then use that information during hearings via direct or cross examination, entering exhibits, raising objections, etc.
- Prepare client witnesses for unemployment hearing proceedings.
- Document all communication with client witnesses.
What experience you need
- Minimum of 2 years of unemployment or related administrative hearings experience.
- Ability to represent clients in unemployment hearings via phone and/or attend local unemployment hearings as needed.
- High School diploma or GED.
- Ability to learn state regulations, departmental procedures and internal systems.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

- Attorney or J.D., legal education or paralegal certification.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adhere to deadlines.
- Experience with G Suite.
