Job Description

The Cash Receipts Clerk (Processing Specialist) in the Finance Department is responsible for the day-to-day posting of payments to the Accounts Receivable (A/R) sub-ledger (ESP) for Clipper Magazine and its related divisions. The Specialist is also responsible for preparing and electronically depositing customer checks into the corporate bank account on a daily basis. The Specialist reports directly to the Cash Receipts Manager.

Key Duties / Responsibilities:

  • Posting of daily payment batches to A/R sub-ledger (ESP) either by check, cash, EFT, ACH or credit card for Clipper Magazine and its related divisions
  • Scan daily check batches and execute transfer (deposit) to the bank via Deposit-on-Site Service
  • Process document request forms and return electronically to requestor
  • File and/or pull copies or original forms of credit card and ACH documentation
  • Delivery of any physical correspondence included with payments in daily mail drop
  • Communication of daily, weekly and monthly cash receipt summaries to the staff accountants in the Finance Department
  • Assist in any other duties as needed and assigned by the Cash Receipts Manager

Education & Knowledge:

  • Accounting/Bookkeeping background including 10-key calculator skills and data entry
  • Strong Windows based computer skills (Excel, Outlook, Word, Internet Explorer)

Experience / Skills / Abilities:

  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a time sensitive environment
  • Ability to work independently and also in a team environment
  • Ability to adapt to a quickly changing environment
  • Ability to communicate clearly
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks as well as prioritization of those tasks
  • Ability to meet daily deadlines
