West Hills Hospital is a 95-bed acute care inpatient psychiatric hospital located in Reno, Nevada, specializing in behavioral healthcare and substance abuse treatment options for children, adolescents, adults and seniors.  Our facility maintains a full-time medical staff of psychiatrists to oversee programs, patients and care.  This ensures you or your loved one will always be in the hands of a professional medical service provider and will receive the most evidence based care available.  West Hills Hospital is JCAHO accredited and is the only facility licensed in northern Nevada to treat children and adolescents.

Job Description: The Staff Nurse (R.N.) is a registered professional nurse who prescribes, coordinates, and evaluates patient care through collaborative efforts with health team members in accordance with the nursing process and the standards of care and practices.  The Staff Nurse must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care, based on physical, psycho/social, educational, safety, and related criteria, appropriate to the age of the patients served..

Job Requirements

Education: Graduate from an accredited program of professional nursing required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.

Experience: A preference of two (2) years experience in a psychiatric health-care facility.

Licensure: Currently licensed to practice by the Nevada State Board of Nursing.  Must have a valid driver's license.

Additional Requirements: CPR certification and successful completion of Handle With Care training  including appropriate use of Seclusion and Restraint, within 30 days of employment, and prior to assisting in a restraining process.  Must pass a medication administration exam.
