Job Description

We are looking for a new member to join our team here in Austin! This is a perfect opportunity for candidates that are looking to establish a career in Human Resources or Customer Service. We are a government agency so you can be sure that work/life balance is important to us. Most of our contractors are brought on to the team as a direct hire at the conclusion of the contract period. We have an excellent work environment and this is an opportunity to improve your skills as a professional and grow with a great organization! Job Duties: • Collects and compiles data and information. Composes written descriptions of results. Electronically stores data and creates/maintains files. • Compose routine correspondence and memoranda. • May maintain an office supply budget and complete expense reports. • Answers and relays incoming calls to department staff, receives and refers visitors. • Stores and uses data through various software programs, spreadsheets and databases. • Coordinates and schedules external and internal meetings, training activities, seminars, etc., by arranging for meeting space, coffee service and luncheon reservations. May make travel arrangements for department staff, including transportation and hotel arrangements, as directed. • May use document management software including Sharepoint and EDMS to store and manage electronic documents. • Use mail merge functions to prepare documents for mass communications. Knowledge, skills and abilities: • Skill in verbal and written communication • Skill in communicating effectively with team members, supervision, and internal/external contacts in a professional manner • Skill in using typical office machines • Skill in organization • Skill in establishing concrete, actionable work plans from ambiguous information and directives • Skill in providing customer service and meeting deadlines • Intermediate skill level in office productivity applications (such as email, word processing, spreadsheets, etc.) • Ability to ask questions that are beyond routine or required to perform the job; resolving discrepancies by asking a series of questions or broad environmental scanning for potential opportunities or miscellaneous information that may be of future use • Ability to understand and learn organizational relationships and dynamics and use them to achieve objectives • Ability to understand and implement policies and procedures • Ability to build relationships and foster teamwork We are an equal employment opportunity employer and will consider all qualified applicants without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, age (40 and over), gender identity, national origin, protected veteran status, disability or any other protected classification under federal and state law.
