Conducts assessments and analyses of behavior deficits and excesses in relation to a childs ability to learn and make gains developmentally. In addition, the Behavior Analyst develops and provides ongoing supervision and implementation of the treatment plan while coordinating care across both the childs family as well as other professionals. Additional services include program creation, appropriate data collection procedures reflective of current targets within programming, graphs and analyzes both behavior and learning acquisition data, makes modifications based on data analyses, conducts ongoing staff and parent training, develops staff fidelity checklists, monitors staff progress and ensures program continuity across therapists providing direct services, overlaps with staff as needed, and provides direct 1:1 Services when behavior or learning deficits require intensive treatment. Submits written reports with data based graphs reflecting assessment and progress as required for review of ongoing progress. The Behavior Analyst must demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively and collaboratively as a part of a multidisciplinary team. Services are provided individually in within groups, either center based or within the childs home.
Because you’re committed to excellence, you understand the importance of being properly prepared for your role at Mercy. That’s why you’ll bring to your role the right set of qualifications:
- Qualification 1: Masters Degree in Special Education, Psychology, or related field or Masters Equivalent required. (Behavior Analysis emphasis preferred.)
- Qualification 2: BCBA (Board Certified Behavior Analyst) certification required. LBA (Licensed Behavior Analyst) required.
Experience: 3+ years of applied experience working with children with special needs. Experience conducting functional behavioral assessments and writing behavior support plans. Experience developing, implementing, and monitoring individiual educational and behavioral programs for children with special needs.
Certifications: Credentialed as a board certified behavioral analyst OR at least 5 years experience in programming for individuals with special needs.
Other: Knowledge of and ability to apply strategies and interventions identified as best practice for children on the autism spectrum. Ability to graph, analyze, and make programmatic decisions from data.
Preferred Education: Clinical Internship preferred. Research experience in behavior analysis within an applied setting preferred
Preferred Experience: Experience supervising and training staff at varying levels of skills and abilities. Experience providing parent education and trianing programs.
