Job Description

The Software Engineer (Developer) will assist in designing, modifying, and developing a client/server application in Java while working with team members developing in C++ and Python. Applications will support United States Marine Corps programs.
The Software Engineer will:
• Participate in a fast-paced Agile development environment
• Participate in the testing process through test review and analysis, test witnessing, and certification of software
• Provide inputs for documentation of new or existing programs
• Leverage experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
• Collaborate with both junior and senior engineers on complex programming assignments
• Participate in full software lifecycle support to include requirements analysis, design, implementation, unit and integration testing

Possess two to five (2-5) years' experience including:
• Developing Java applications in a commercial or government environment
• Using JavaFX for front-end development
• Using Maven for the build environment
• IntelliJ, GIT, and JIRA
• Digital signal processing (advanced coursework and/or work experience)
• Software-defined radio (SDR) development (examples: GnuRadio, REDHAWK, OSSIE)
• SQL and/or NoSQL databases
• Developing enterprise server implementations is a plus
• Use of middleware in distributed applications
• Demonstrable Object Oriented (OO) design skills and use of design patterns
• Ability to work in a team environment and follow software engineering practices
• Strong analytical skills
• Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics or related discipline required
• Master of Science degree in technical discipline desired
