Our newest Waldorf Astoria is looking for a Director of Restaurants to join this gorgeous Atlanta property!

Located in one of Atlanta's most prestigious neighborhoods, this 42-story tower has over 200 rooms (127 guest rooms plus residences), over 7,000 square feet of meeting space, and 2 food and beverage outlets. This includes the 3-meal restaurant and 24-hour in-room dining.

In this role, you will oversee the restaurant, in-room dining, and the beverage program managing a team of 20.  

The ideal candidate will be a driven and passionate leader with a talent for developing others and building teams. At least 3-5 years of food and beverage management experience with a background in luxury and beverage program management is required. Sommelier certification is a plus.

What will I be doing?

As the Director of Restaurants, you will coordinate the organization and administrative functions in all areas of the F&B Division. This includes orchestrating daily restaurant operations, supervising In-Room Dining and championing the hotel's beverage program while ensuring proper execution of service, striving to continually improve guest and employee satisfaction, and maximizing the financial performance of the outlets. Specifically, you would be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

  • Set tone for positive and welcoming work environment and support Company's philosophy and company culture.
  • Delegate management tasks to outlet leaders, communicate effectively and collaborate harmoniously with Executive Chef and Back of House leadership.
  • Ensure compliance with standards of operation and Waldorf Astoria Hotels and Resorts standards of service at all times throughout operation.
  • Recruit, interview, and train new team members.
  • Participate in the formulation of strategic business plans for the hotel.
  • Establish monthly reporting system to monitor; Key Performance Indicators, operational expenses, project updates, SALT activities and other related tasks.
  • Handle all guest complaints expeditiously to complete resolution.
  • Manage projects and any other reasonable duties as required by hotel management.

  • Monitor and develop team member performance to include, but not limited to, providing supervision and professional development, scheduling, conducting counseling and evaluations and delivering recognition and reward. Ensure that the appraisal and succession planning systems and deadlines are utilized and adhered to.

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, local and company health, safety, sanitation and alcohol awareness standards.

  • Perform general management duties including, but not limited to, systems management, budget and forecasting, report generation, department management and meeting participation and facilitation.

  • Participate in public relations activities, sales calls or other promotional activities designed to enhance the image and profitability of the food and beverage department of the hotel.

  • Partner with Sales and Marketing to manage the roll out of the annual promotional schedule and to create additional programs or promotions to improve the profitability and image of the food and beverage operation.

  • Monitor and analyze competitor operations in order to assess their activities and trends and to ensure that we stay ahead of the competition. 

  • Ensure safety levels required in the pool operation are adhered to at all times.

  • Ensure all services offered to the Residences are delivered and that strong relationships are built with the Residential Owners to maximize their use of hotel outlets and services.
