This position maintains and constructs broadcast towers, requiring extensive travel and the ability to climb to heights up to 2000 feet. PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION FDH has been awarded a multi-year project by the US Air Force as part of the Sentinel program. This presents an opportunity for a leader to manage different teams of engineers who accomplish the structural health analysis tasks as outlined in the awarded government contract. The Engineering Manager – Federal Programs will oversee a variety of teams and projects, including finite element modeling, research engineering, data science/analytics, structural engineering, and development of inspection/monitoring products, to provide current and probabilistic structural analyses of critical infrastructure. Requirements for this position include obtaining and maintaining active Department of Defense (DoD) Top Secret Clearance and guiding teams to ensure they meet the terms and requirements of our federal contracts. This role combines facets of project management, technical leadership, personnel management and development, subcontractor management, and client service. The engineering teams work closely with the field services team to accurately and thoroughly analyze field data and perform probabilistic analysis of reinforced concrete structures. FDH is a rapidly growing company and is on track to expand the Federal Department significantly by obtaining new patents, developing intellectual property, and adding additional multi-year contracts with different government divisions. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS • Manage all resources within the engineering group of the Federal Programs department.
• Oversee the scheduling, assignment, and coordination of work within the teams to ensure the work meets all contract terms.
• Designate resources, schedules, and goals within the department and in partnership with other departments.
• Lead teams of finite element analysts, research engineers, data scientists, and others in performing probabilistic and structural reliability analyses of reinforced concrete structures.
• Ensure quality and accuracy of work and reports completed by the teams.
• Interface directly with federal clients on both the contractual and operational sides of work.
• Support the development of proposals and bids for contracts ranging from $10,000 - $50 million.
• Write and perform detailed final reviews of technical reports and other technical engineering documents.
• Willingness to review and push through contracts, subcontractor agreements and purchase orders, reviewing for accuracy and negotiating best possible terms for FDH.
• Understand technical documents and research papers in-depth.
• Communicate results effectively (verbally and in writing) with all levels of management, employees, and outside contacts.
• Manage employee timecards, expense reports, and leave requests.
• Interface with other FDH project teams to share and interpret data.
• Multi-task throughout assigned range of responsibilities.
• Observe and adhere to requirements related to our on-site DoD-approved secure facility
• Willing to operate a company vehicle as necessary.

• Additional duties as assigned by supervisor. QUALIFICATIONS
• Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering (or related field).
• Preferred: Master’s Degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering (or related field).
• 8+ years of experience in engineering technical work.
• 2+ years of experience in engineering management.
• Professional Engineering (PE) licensure in at least one state required.
• Expert knowledge of MS Office.
• preferred.
• Active driver’s license without restrictions.
• Ability to maintain high confidentiality.
• Active US Passport without restrictions.
• Ability to obtain and maintain US government top secret security clearance is required • Prior experience with Non-Destructive Testing systems for concrete structures.
• In-depth knowledge of analysis, design, and assessment of reinforced concrete and civil structures is required.
• In-depth experience regarding contract management, procurement, and retention of subcontractors.
• Knowledge of 3-D Modeling software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD Civil 3-D) preferred.
• Knowledge of finite element modeling processes preferred.
• Knowledge of data analysis and probabilistic analysis methods
• Superior problem solving and decision-making skills.
