Lovely office located in Novato, CA The Information Technology (IT) Support Specialist provides end-user technical support for a 50+ Microsoft user environment, including Microsoft Office 2016, 2019, 365, a variety of custom business applications, VOIP, smart-phones and other peripherals. Contributes to the recommendation and evaluation of new end-user technology tools and manages staff training and implementation for selected platforms.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES ? Troubleshoot, diagnose and resolve technical problems across multiple hardware and software platforms, including workstations, laptops, servers, ShoreTel VOIP phone system, digital imaging solutions, smartphones and multiple printing technologies. ? Manage all help-desk requests for assistance, maintains ?how-to? library documentation for common staff requests. ? Provide first-level support for a variety of custom and third-party software applications. ? Partners with staff to ensure successful implementation of new end-user tools / platforms. ? Build and support virtual desktop infrastructure for testing new versions of Microsoft OS and applications against our custom applications. ? Manage updates/patches for the desktop environment with Quest Kace K1000 using PowerShell scripts ? Provide on-line and phone support to remote users (both staff and external stakeholders). ? Assist with setting priorities and communication of status and outcomes with users. ? Proactively identify any technical issues affecting the Foundation, research avenues of resolution, assess prerequisites for implementation and present resulting documentation to senior members of the department for consideration. ? Assist business users in needs analysis and preparation of requests. ? Create and maintains asset inventory documentation, using Quest Kace. ? Manage phone switch to implement user moves, additions and changes. ? Administer user account settings and permissions for all systems in Microsoft Active Directory, Office 365, Duo for Microsoft Remote Desktop. ? Assist staff with recovery of missing files. ? Perform periodic review and updates of all AV systems in meeting rooms. ? Develop and provide staff training. ? Maintain documentation for all position-related processes and systems. ? Perform other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS ? B.A./B.S. degree required or A.A. degree in a related field/technical trade school and 3 years of work experience related to the key responsibilities of this position description. ? 3 -5 years of experience in help desk / systems management environments. ? Must have detailed knowledge of Microsoft Windows 7 10 and Microsoft Active Directory (AD); Office 2016, 2019, 365; current Microsoft certifications highly preferred. ? Ability to manage and administer Office 365. ? Ability to create, maintain an MDT environment to deploy a desktop environment with the operating systems, applications and customizations ? Ability to create and maintain PowerShell scripts and create PowerShell scripts for remote deployment company wide is preferred. . ? Knowledge of ? and the ability to support ? desktop and laptop workstations, desk phone devices, and both Apple and Android smartphones and tablets. ? Working knowledge of Microsoft Remote Desktop Connection environments and/or VOIP also a plus. ? Ability to install and troubleshoot packaged and custom applications.. ? Strong analytical, diagnostics, and problem-solving skills. ? High level of personal and detail oriented integrity and ethics. ? Excellent ability to prioritize, organize, and manage multiple competing assignments and responsibilities. ? Excellent customer service and communication skills (listening, interpersonal, oral, and written). ? Interest in furthering technical education as the technology changes. ? Experience working for a foundation or nonprofit organization, or public agency, preferred.
