Undergraduate Admissions Counselor
OFFICE PROFILE: The Office of Undergraduate Admissions is responsible for the recruitment, admission, and enrollment of traditional undergraduate students to Concordia University Irvine.
ROLE: Responsible for recruiting prospective students and maintaining contact throughout the admissions funnel via daily calls, emails, texts and in-person appointments. The Admissions Counselor will evaluate application from prospective students and make recommendations for admissions decisions. All activities of this position are to make a contribution to the fulfillment of the mission of the university.

- Approved by the Associate Vice President of Enrollment
STAFF RELATIONSHIPS:
- Report to the Assistant Director of Undergraduate Admissions for daily supervision
- Interact and function cooperatively with Undergraduate Admissions staff and other campus personnel
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to accomplish each of the below duties satisfactorily:
- Represent the University through strategic recruitment of prospective students
- Manage recruitment territory based on geographic region and/or student group. Be responsible and accountable for meeting enrollment target based on University goals.
- Maintain regular communication with and provide timely and accurate responses to prospective students via telephone, text message, email, social media, and scheduled and walk-in appointments. Conduct individual and group presentations. Provide campus tours as needed.
- Counsel students and families on admission requirements, financial aid and enrollment procedures
- Monitor progress of student applications. Request and collect supporting documents to complete application files. Maintain and monitor application roster of between 400-700 applicants
- Utilize TargetX CRM (customer relationship management) database to communicate with and track activity of prospective students. Produce and monitor funnel reports
- Present effective small and large group presentations of the university to prospective students, parents, counselors, alumni, pastors and youth leaders both on and off campus
- Develop and maintain relationships with important influencers and partners including high school counselors, community college transfer centers, community-based organizations, churches, and youth pastors
- Recruit students via various off-campus events and activities including college fairs, high school and community college visits, church visits, and regional yield events
- Maintain current knowledge of University principles, programs, policies and procedures
- Other duties as assigned
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree (B.A.) is required. Related experience in recruitment, education, sales or marketing is preferred.

- Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office and software applications; experience with CRM and/or university enterprise system preferred
- Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy
- This position requires occasional evening and weekend work and seasonal travel (three to six weeks in the fall and one to two weeks in the spring)
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret university procedures, general information, educational and professional publications, synodical procedures, and/or governmental regulations
- Ability to write reports, correspondence, and procedure manuals
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of staff, faculty, administration, students, families, and/or the general public
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
REASONING ABILITY
- Ability to apply common-sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations

- Ability to lift, pull, grasp, stoop, and reach to utilize 5-drawer file cabinets
- May require climbing stairs and walking indoors or outdoors to various offices on campus
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand and walk. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms.
The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
