Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, related field or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Demonstrated ability and experience in conducting analysis of business requirements, system requirements, system design, and system test plans. Typically possesses seven or more years experience performing systems development activities. Possesses knowledge of the development and support of client server applications. Demonstrated ability to model, analyze, design, test implement, and maintain complex applications. Candidate must be client-focused with the ability to articulate the impact of technology to the business value. Knowledge of data management required. Formulates and defines systems scope and objectives based on both user needs and a thorough understanding of business systems and industry requirements. Devises or modifies procedures to solve complex problems considering computer equipment capacity and limitations, operation time, and form of desired results. Includes analysis of business and user needs, documentation of requirements, and translation into proper system requirement specifications. Not only possesses full technical knowledge of most phases of systems analysis, but also considers the business implications of the application of technology to the current and future business environment. Also has duties of instructing, directing, and checking the work of business systems analysis personnel. Acts a team leader for projects with moderate budgets or of a short to intermediate duration.
Gather and Input Data
Gather and maintain a wide array of data-related business processes and reporting. This involves both entering information into existing databases and creating new processes and programs to accurately input and store critical data. They also work with data structures and metadata to ensure consistency, security, and accessibility.
Take an active role in data analysis and interpretation. This can include analyzing financial data and forecasts, or employee data provided by human resources departments. Need to exercise sound judgment while analyzing and interpreting data to ensure a high level of accuracy, timeliness, and usefulness for business leaders.
Prepare business documents and presentations for upper management and executives. They use data-gathering and modeling strategies to provide an overview of new processes and enhanced procedures for business-wide reporting.
Design Data Management and Reporting Tools
Play a direct role in designing and developing reports that are then deployed across the organization. May be asked to monitor databases and systems for inputting, managing, and securing organization s data.
Familiarity with Hadoop, PowerBI would be beneficial.
Would be frequently collaborating with IT professionals to troubleshoot systems and train users on their use.
Collaborate with Business Teams and Leadership
Frequently work across business lines, conferring with managers and executives to gather requirements and specifications while developing enhanced data and reporting tools. Work directly with team leaders to gain a better sense of the current shortcomings in reporting technology and devise solutions to enhance reporting and data management.
