Job Description Summary

In a lab within the Department of Genetics with membership in the Penn Epigenetics Institute and Institute for Immunology, the Application Developer Sr is sought to be involved in tool development for analyzing large volumes of high-throughput experimental data including but not limited to single-cell genomics and imaging measurements, and participating in subsequent data analysis and data integration. This project is funded by the Human Pancreas Analysis Program (HPAP), which is a multi-million dollar program by the NIH which aims to better understand the root cause of type 1 diabetes, a devastating autoimmune disease.

Qualifications

A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Computational Biology and at least 2 years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience required. Must have good base in a majority of the following: Python, Perl, OOP (C++/Java), Web dev, SQL. A good handle on R is a plus. Active interest in bioinformatics, genomics or machine learning applications is required. Experience working with large genomic sequence data is preferred.
