POSITION SUMMARY
The R&D Analytical Chemist will work very closely with the R&D Manager to fulfill various project goals, which includes but is not limited to:
- Perform analytical test of R&D products, raw materials and stability samples using instrumentation, such as, HPLC, GC, UV/Vis, FT-IR, Karl Fisher, capillary viscosity, NMR, etc.
- Assist or prepare analytical method development plans and test method documentation
- Review laboratory data for accuracy, consistency and completeness; identify results with potential issues requiring further investigation
- Prepare summary reports from laboratory data to ensure compliance with cGMP and GLP requirements
- Analyze organic and inorganic compounds to determine chemical and physical properties, composition, structure, relationships, and reactions, utilizing chromatography, spectroscopy, and spectrophotometry techniques
- Compile and analyze test information for R&D group
- Coordinate and advise laboratory personnel in test procedures for analyzing components and physical properties of materials
- Abide by all Company and OSHA safety standards set for work areas
- BS or MS in scientific discipline (preference will be given to those with degree in relevant field)
- Knowledge of analytical instrumentation theory and practice, specifically, GC, GC/MS, HPLC, NMR and FT-IR.
- Knowledge of wet chemistry techniques.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Applications, Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.
- Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills
- 1+ years’ experience in cGMP analytical or synthetic laboratory
- Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently to deliver on project goals
- Working knowledge of Empower, Chem Station, and MestReNova Software
Bench-scale lab with hoods; production floor with reactors, forklifts, and accompanying noises; cubicle in office areas
