Plant Vehicle Team Engineer

Duties:
  • Improve Plant Vehicle Quality (TGW, R/1000, CPU) & Customer Satisfaction
  • Develop/Manage/Own Plant BSAQ roadmaps to deliver the Plant Vehicle Line/ Functional Objectives (TGW's, R/1000, CPU, and Warranty Spend)
  • Receive, evaluate and respond to Early Concern Binning (ECB) claims daily
  • Contact dealerships to investigate ECB Claim details
  • Contact customers to investigate GQRS Claim details (if required)
  • Identify and align ECB to Plant internal QLS and verify containment
  • Prepare ECB and Form-4 summary; attend applicable plant report-out meetings; prepare and present as required
  • Write WERS CR's to correct design concerns that affect Warranty and First Run concerns
  • Write WERS Alerts as required - Run engineering trials prior to ECN implementation
  • Work with plant team and product engineering to solve manufacturing assembly and / or product quality issues
  • Work with component part suppliers to resolve product issues
  • Track and follow numerous engineering and / or supplier changes
  • Conduct weekly vehicle yard audits and document result for management reviews

Minimum Requirements:
  • BS Engineering; Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Electrical preferred
  • Previous Functional Engineering; Design and Release experience for manufacturing of durable goods, Manufacturing Engineering or Tool Design
  • Strong English verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present information to small groups
  • Ability to work well in plant environment
  • Strong ability to budget time for multiple projects 
  • olid problem solving skills
  • Strong Leadership skills; taking the lead with teams, vendors and cross-functional groups
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Strong organization skills

Skills Preferred:
  • Master Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
  • Interior Systems Experience (plastics, assembly, climate control, or cut / sew)
  • Experience in 6-Sigma process; 6-Sigma Black Belt
  • Prior Product Vehicle Team experience
  • Strong passion for delivering Best In World Quality
  • Solid design and release experience
  • Solid experience on a wide range of functional items

Experience Required:
Previous Functional Engineering; Design and Release experience for manufacturing of durable goods, Manufacturing Engineering or Tool Design

Education Required:
BS Engineering; Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Electrical preferred
