Job Description

Overview

The Collections Representative I handles both 1-30 day past due customers as well as 31+ customers. Collector I resolves issues/problems to obtain payments. Collector I may have to resolves more complicated issues and provides timely resolution to the customer, therefore, obtaining payments.

Responsibilities

- The duties of a Collections Specialist include collection calls and/or correspondence in a fast paced goal oriented collections department.
- Providing customer service regarding collection issues, process customer refunds, process and review account adjustments, resolve client discrepancies and short payments. Responsible for monitoring and maintaining assigned accounts- Customer calls, account adjustments, small balance write off, customer reconciliations and processing credit memos.
- Accountable for reducing delinquency for assigned accounts. Providing customer focused, quality work, with nothing less than professionalism at all times.
- Maintain low delinquency consistently.
- Resolving customer disputes in a timely fashion. (Ex. Insurance, Property Tax, equipment issues, asset usage, invoicing, and misapplications etc.)
- Ability to work in a fast paced, team environment with high call volume, keeping good composure even during disputes.
- Making follow up calls- (ex. If promised payment is not received) and accomplishing all tasks.
- Demonstrates a positive attitude, quality work ethics, works well with others, and respectful of other associates at all times.

Qualifications

- Bachelor€™s degree or equivalent experience preferred.
- Experience Preferred: no previous collections experience to 1 year Collections/Customer Service experience.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Intermediate knowledge level of Microsoft Office products, 
- Requires individuals to work successfully within a team environment and inter-departmentally to ensure service levels, group and individual metrics are met.
- Proven analytical problem solving skills and basic math skills required.
- Ability to multitask and excel in a fast paced environment.
- Strong ability to prioritize, with excellent time management skills.
- Successful utilization of systems:  SalesForce, Unified Desktop
