Field Engineer (Multiple Skill Levels)

We have an exciting opportunity for Field Engineering staff at various skill levels to join our team in support of the Operations Support and Engineering Services (OSES) for The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) at the Mike Monroney Aeronautical Center (MMAC) in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. 

Responsibilities: (will vary dependent upon position applied for but may include the following)

  • Provide electrical and electromechanical fabrication, installation, implementation and deployment support for radar, communications, and other activities relative to the National Defense Program (NDP).
  • Develop and implement modifications and upgrades to assigned equipment and facilities (e.g., CARSR, ARSR-4, ARSR-4 with IFF Mode 4 and 5, NDAG Radios).
  • Provide proposed modifications designs, remote monitoring and control, and interface control document. (ICDs).
  • Develop documentation in the form of Maintenance Technical Handbooks and Technical Instruction Books for equipment specifications, equipment testing and troubleshooting.
  • Provide field support through first level engineering support, on-site restoration, provide documentation requests, and data entry into the FAA DMS.
  • Provide technical drafting and illustration support.
  • Participate with NDP engineering in prototype development of proposed modifications.
  • Provide support for the installation of equipment due to Major System Upgrades and Service Life Extension Programs (SLEP) for NAS facilities in accordance with FAA specifications.
  • Must pass the FAA provided Fall Protection training and receive certification. 
  • Support numerous individual pieces of equipment such Surveillance, and Navigational Aids, NAS Defense Air to Ground Radios and evolving systems such as Spectrum Efficient National Surveillance Radar(SENSR).
  • Support Air Route Surveillance Radar 4 (ARSR-4) and/or Common Air Route Surveillance Radar (CARSR).
  • Support facility maintenance, modification, and remediation as well as various levels of equipment repair.
  • Collecting and analyzing data.
  • Developing detailed models and simulations of systems for design verification or to enable operational hardware and software development.

Positions Open and Requirements:

  • Field Engineer Associate - Bachelors Degree plus 1 year of relevant experience 
  • Field Engineer Intermediate l - Bachelors Degree plus 3 year of relevant experience 
  • Field Engineer Intermediate ll - Bachelors Degree plus 5 year of relevant experience 
  • Principal Field Engineer Senior l - Bachelors Degree plus 8 years of relevant experience 

PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING:

  • Engineering, math and science degrees are required.
  • Bachelor's Degree 
    (Eight years of relevant experience over and above the minimum experience requirements for the position will be considered equivalent to a Bachelor's degree.)
