Data Systems Analysts, Inc. is searching for a Business Analyst. This is a full time position in Aberdeen, MD at the Aberdeen Proving Grounds.
 
This Business Analyst will become part of a cross functional team that shares solutions between organizations as well as work with an excellent application development team that works with state of the art technology creating applications that support the US Army. The selected candidate will be responsible for conducting stakeholder meetings, documentation of business requirements and coordinating with technical developers to build solutions using .NET technologies, SharePoint 2013 and other technologies and COTS products. Additionally, will assist with testing, instructional documentation and process improvement to continually improve user experience.
 
Responsibilities:
- Act as the primary liaison to MilTech's customers for all services and products provided by other MilTech internal teams.
- Have a detailed understanding of and visibility across all products and services and how they are being utilized within the MilTech customer base.
- Provide pros, cons and recommendation briefings to the customer based on their requirement and a through and detailed analysis of what is available in the MilTech portfolio and customer base.
- Understand KM principles of tacit and explicit knowledge collection techniques to best advise customers.
- Meet with customers regularly to translate business needs into development requirements, and work with internal MilTech divisions to implement requirements as needed. Coordinate all internal MilTech activities as an advocate for the customer, providing a "single face to the customer” across all capability sets.
- Track customer project efforts, and provide regular detailed project information on performance and schedule to PMO using MS Project
- Meet with customers regularly to ensure products are being used effectively and develop methods to increase usage and positive mission impact and return on investment across all capabilities.

Required Skills:
• A minimum of 5 years’ experience in IT, business analysis or a related field.
• Exceptional analytical and conceptual thinking skills.
• The ability to influence stakeholders and work closely with them to determine acceptable solutions.
• Excellent documentation skills.
• Fundamental analytical and conceptual thinking skills.
• Experience creating detailed reports and giving presentations.
• Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• A track record of following through on commitments.
• Excellent planning, organizational, and time management skills.
• A history of supporting successful projects.
 
Desired Skills:
• A bachelor’s degree in business or related field or an MBA.
• Three to five years' experience developing web based applications in .Net, and SharePoint
• Experienced with current technologies including object oriented design and development.
• Design and development of custom SharePoint Web parts, SharePoint Features and Provider-hosted SharePoint Apps
• Experience designing and developing web applications, designing user interfaces, writing test plans, testing applications
• Experience with creating Business Intelligence/Dashboards
 
Desired Education and Certifications:
A bachelor’s degree in business or related field or an MBA
