To perform visual inspection of the finished product as required by the appropriate AQL program, monitor lines and inspection equipment; manually gauge ware and document results; complete all necessary shift forms; properly operate automatic carton equipment and bulk equipment; maintain a clean work area; add additional support as needed in the packing department to maintain production standards and quality; and analyze shop performance and communicate issues with co-workers and staff members as needed. Materials: Finish ware; internal packing components; all carton material; baled cartons; labels; pallets cap sheets; and other miscellaneous materials.
Tools and Equipment: AQL sheets and writing implements, computer, count sheets, broom, shovel, mop, forklift truck, automatic palletizers/unitizers, automatic carton machines, case packers, basic gauges, line equipment, baler, trash compactor, conveyors and other misc. equipment and tools as needed. Working Procedure: - Inspect visually and manually the prescribed number of bottles ware running using the established sampling plan and record results on necessary production records.
- List job number and all defects found, notify supervisors and forming department of any ware found not within established quality control standards.
- Perform hourly packed ware counts, and record all results.
- Checks pallet pattern for correct block, height, and count.
- Check cartons for proper gauging.
- Monitors lines for proper ware flow.
- Follow all SOP's and specifications per plant requirements.
- Reselects held ware, hand pack and or hand stack as needed.
- Clears palletizer/unitizers of jams.
- Cleans glue machines as needed.
- Loads and secures finished ware to prescribed pattern on a pallet
- Clean glass off equipment and sweep/shovel glass off floor.
- Maintain good housekeeping.
- Knowledge of 5s a plus.
- Comply with Environmental and Food Safety standards as set forth in plant policies/programs within Department responsibilities.
