RESPONSIBILITIES:

Kforce is immediately seeking an IT Security Engineer for their client in Northwest Houston, Texas (TX). Summary: The client is looking for an IT professional who will be responsible for determining and developing architectural approaches and solutions, researching new technologies and approaches, creating standards and roadmaps, and developing recommendations for migrating to future standards. Essential Functions:
  • Identify security issues and risks, and develop mitigation plans
  • Architect, design, implement, support, and evaluate security-focused tools and services
  • Work with partners, vendors, and business stakeholders to develop and interpret security policies and procedures
  • Evaluate and recommend new and emerging security best practices, products and technologies
  • Work with development teams to integrate security considerations into the software development lifecycle
  • Influence and ensure integrity of the develops pipeline
  • Ensure content data is appropriately secured with appropriate digital rights management strategies
  • Participate in security incident handling and remediation
  • Plans security systems by evaluating network and security technologies; Developing requirements for local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), virtual private networks (VPNs), routers, firewalls, and related security and network devices; designs public key infrastructures (PKIs), including use of certification authorities (CAs) and digital signatures as well as hardware and software; Adhering to industry standards
  • Discovering cybersecurity events and escalating to the appropriate individuals and groups
  • Assist development and review of Risk Management and Information Security policies, procedures, standards and guidelines
  • Implements security systems by specifying intrusion detection methodologies and equipment; Directing equipment and software installation and calibration

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Security + or equivalent certification
  • Prefer those with a professional security certification, such as GIAC, CISSP, CISM or equivalent certifications
  • 7+ years of experience in Information Technology
  • 5+ years of experience in Information Security
  • Knowledge of information risk and security policies, standards and regulations related to information security, data confidentiality (PCI-DSS, etc.) and desktop, server, application, database and network security principles
  • Current knowledge of threats and cybersecurity trends
  • Strong knowledge of Security Frameworks (ISO 27002, NIST 800-53, COBIT, HITRUST)
  • Knowledge of security regulations and standards (PCI, HIPAA, FISMA, etc.)
  • Strong knowledge of common operating systems (Windows, Linux, Solaris and Unix)
  • Must be able to perform hands-on support for a wide range of security technologies (SEIM, IDS/IPS, malware analysis and protection, identity and access management, data loss prevention, content filtering technologies, vulnerability scanners, etc.)
  • Knowledge of network and web related protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, UDP, IPSEC, HTTP, HTTPS, routing protocols)
  • Prefer someone with wide and diverse IT Security training
