Job Description

Woodward Community Based Services is currently seeking Behavioral Health Intervention Services (BHIS) providers in Dallas county, IOWA.  This is a part time position with the opportunity and potential to become full time depending on the caseload of the provider hired.
Through a continuum of services, Woodward Community Based Services, a division of Sequel Youth and Family Services, provides education, counseling and supervision to individuals and families in their home community. Our professionals work in conjunction with local resources to develop a strength-based plan to support success for our consumers.
This position will provide in-home Skill Development services to client’s ages 4-21 years of age and their families to address the behavioral needs of children and adults with mental health diagnosis.  The goal is to work with the client and their family in building skills that will help to manage the behaviors and ultimately assist them in maintaining positive functioning in the home, at school, and in the community.
The BHIS provider will also provide ongoing feedback to the supervisor and therapist for assistance in creating a treatment plan which outlines the goals of the BHIS services.  Travel is required as the families are seen in their homes, community settings, or at an office.  The schedule is flexible and may include regular work hours, night hours, and weekend shifts with mostly hours between 2 p.m. and 8 p.m.  These hours are determined based on the family and BHIS workers arrangements.
BHIS providers are also expected to complete the necessary documentation (notes, intake packets, etc.) and must have access to a computer, internet, and printer/scanner.
-Bachelor's degree in Social Work (BSW) or human services related field PLUS one year of full time equivalent human service experience OR 20 hours child mental health training may be substituted for experience; OR a Bachelor's degree in a non-human services related field PLUS two years of full time equivalent human service experience OR 30 hours of child mental health training may be substituted for experience.
-Comply with Code of Conduct, Compliancy, Confidentiality and Core Value requirements.
-Uphold agency communication standards.
-Follow Iowa Code Chapter 24.3(4.11) code of ethics which states: staff will not engage in uninvited solicitation of potential clients, BHIS will not be provided in the home of Intervention Specialist, BHIS will not be provided at the convenience of Intervention Specialist, and that staff not have a conflict of interest and/or dual relationship with the individual receiving services. This includes, but is not limited to, child care provider, coach, juvenile court school liaison, family member, or personal friend of the individual. Must be at least 3 years older than the individual served who is less than 18.
-Abide by The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (42 USC & 201 et seq.)
This position requires a valid driver's license, auto insurance, a good driving record and the ability to pass an extensive background check including checks of the Dependent Adult and Child Abuse registries, Sex Offender registry and a criminal history check.”
Starting rate $18/hr with potential to earn $23/hr average.
Mileage and Cell Phone Reimbursement
Full Time Benefits include a monthly vehicle stipend of over $500.
