VP of Corporate Development

The Vice President, Corporate Development will be responsible for identifying, prioritizing and pursuing potential external business opportunities for the company. This individual will act as a strategic leader and thought partner to Company’s Executive Leadership Team (ELT), scouting opportunities which align with Company’s corporate strategy, providing an assessment of innovative solutions in the marketplace, and establishing relationships with key external contacts. The position will also lead conversations and negotiations with potential partners in conjunction with the Corporate Development Officer.  


  • Identify Company’s needed capabilities that might be best addressed via a partnership or other collaborative effort
  • Conduct research on opportunities and deliver detailed analyses on alignment of potential deals with company’s strategy
  • Build and provide prioritized recommendations on possible partnerships to Company’s executive leadership based on the potential for business growth, financial accretion, and operational feasibility
  • Develop and manage relationships across a network of partners including venture capital, private equity, investment banks, start-ups, and established companies
  • Provide leadership, consultation, and expertise on special projects within the Strategy organization
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or related area of study
  • 15 years of business, finance or other relevant work experience, including at least 5 years of experience in banking, private equity, M&A, strategy or corporate development
  • 9 years of leadership/management experience
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States without need for work visa or residency sponsorship

Additional Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of health care marketplace, insurance, brokers, business positioning, sales and account management processes
  • Excellent strategic-thinking, analytic, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong financial and quantitative analysis experience
  • Exceptional facilitation, presentation, consulting, and listening skills; skilled negotiator with both internal and external leaders

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience at a start-up or similar environment
  • MBA
  • PBM Experience
  • Proven track record in managing complex projects and initiatives
