Position Title: Senior Engineer Supplier Quality Engineering
Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
Summary of Duties:
Responsible for equipment suppliers used in various modules including: etch, diffusion, implant, metrology and defectivity. Responsible for material selection as part of new derivatives or platform development including replacement materials for POR. Improve and maintain the effectiveness of quality systems to assure world-class quality of production materials and subcontractor services. Drive and develop assigned suppliers and subcontractors to provide consistent, good quality product and service through execution and continuous enhancement of the following activities and systems: supplier capability assessment and qualification process, supplier performance rating, supplier business review, supplier quality system, process and product audit, review suppliers' Statistical Process Control (SPC) program, FMEA, and drive for continuous improvement. Formulate plans and strategies that will strengthen the quality and process control management for Chemicals and Specialty Gases with the aim of driving continuous improvement program to prevent excursion. Understand material critical parameters that are required for etch, diffusion, cleans and implant processes and evaluate specification limits for those parameters. Evaluate and review supply chains pertaining to process gases and chemicals. Establish and modify parameters to be able to detect, prevent and predict possible defective commodities. Run scenarios for etch, diffusion, implant, cleans and metrology modules to improve their performance. Understand the processes in semiconductor technology from Front End Of Line to Far Back End Of Line so as to speculate failure mechanisms that occur during excursions. Validate analytical results i.e. Metals Contamination, Assay variability, Particles, etc. through various analytical techniques or methods, e.g. ICPMS, GSMS, LPC, etc. Utilize this technique to pinpoint root cause or sources of contamination that will aide on issue resolution. Assess Failure Analyses from SEM, TEM, SIMS, etc. for gas and silicon wafer commodities. Perform statistical analysis and run commonality algorithms on analyzed parameters to identify rogue commodity lots. Work with corrective and preventive action teams for timely resolution of issues pertaining to quality of product or services provided by suppliers and subcontractors. Collaborate with suppliers for Continuous Improvement Programs or Design of Experiments (DOE). Provide continuous effort to streamline Supplier Quality Control (SQC) procedures for productivity improvement. Ensure on-time follow-up on implementation of effective corrective and preventive actions or improvement plans identified through audit, performance rating, and Corrective Action Request. Drive for compliance to IATF and ISO9001 for key suppliers. Publish periodic performance measurement indices to drive supplier and contractor quality improvement activities. Provide close support and engagement with internal customers and sister sites. Qualifications
Position requires a Master's degree in Industrial Engineering, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related engineering degree plus 2 years of experience in the job offered or as a Quality Engineer, or related role. Alternatively, employer will accept a Bachelor's degree plus 4 years of semiconductor experience.
Position requires experience working in the semiconductor industry. Requires knowledge of and hands-on experience with analytical tools for troubleshooting and analysis. Requires experience with material characterization techniques. Requires systematic troubleshooting skills using 8D methodology, FMEA, and relevant analytical metrology. Requires experience reading and understanding SEM data. Requires experience with ISO9001/IATF16949, JMP, Oracle, SPC, 5 WHY/8D, Lean/Six Sigma, FMEA, and 5M1E. Requires audit experience based on ISO9001/IATF16949. Requires experience using Statistical Process Control (SPC). Requires experience with processes in semiconductor technology from Front End Of Line to Far Back End Of Line in order to speculate failure mechanisms that occur during excursions. Requires experience with project management.
