RESPONSIBILITIES

• Interviewing and screening clients
• Working with subpoena requests, organizing productions, bates-stamping, summarizing medical records and itemizing bills.
• Performing document searches and legal research
• Drafting all legal documentation and correspondence, such as summonses, pleadings, discovery requests, motions, pretrial orders, etc.
• Preparing and serving discovery requests and compiling discovery responses.
• Scheduling medical examinations
• Communicating with and interviewing experts, medical personnel, law enforcement officers, etc.; scheduling and arranging meetings.
• Communicating with insurance carriers, opposing counsel and courtroom staff.
• Assisting with depositions and trial preparation, including witness prep, organizing and preparing exhibits
• Reviewing damage information, preparing damage summaries, and calculating damage
• Maintaining the schedules and calendars of the supervising attorneys.

QUALIFICATIONS

• 3+ years of law firm experience with strong knowledge and understanding of litigation
• Familiarity with federal, state and local rules of civil procedure
• Must have strong technical skills and be proficient in MS Office, legal and research databases, court-filing computer systems, and transcription software
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to support multiple attorneys and work independently
