Schaeffler, a global automotive and industrial supplier, is seeking an Industrial Bearing Reconditioning and Repair Services Manager based in our Joplin, MO factory. This position is initially responsible for project leadership and management to establish level 1-2 reconditioning capabilities with primary emphasis on Raw Materials large size bearings and subsequentially Railway TAROL bearings in conjunction with AAR approvals. Once the project site is commissioned, the role will transition to operational management with direct hands-on service responsibilities.
Key responsibilities include but not limited to:
Direct hands-on service responsibilities especially during start-up phase until business demand requires additional personnel.
Works with new and existing customers both with directly and indirectly with external sales support to develop new business opportunities.
Ensures performance targets are met, while compliance with the applicable quality standards and regulatory requirements for reconditioning of industrial bearings.
Responsible for ensuring that maximum productivity is achieved in all areas (including external suppliers) of industrial bearing reconditioning and repair services, including training of new employees and retraining of existing employees.
Qualified candidates will have:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
Prefer a minimum of ten (10) years manufacturing or diagnosis/repair of bearings for industrial applications experience
Knowledge with manufacturing processes, product design, measurement and test procedures, production control, analysis of volume flows and value flows, products and customers
Knowledge of fundamentals, principles and management of reconditioning functions within the scope of Schaeffler Industrial Division preferred
Possess good planning, organizational and communication skills, and motivational ability
Proficiency of MS office suite with ability to learn internal systems
Prefer proficiency in SAP
