Overview

We are looking for a Reactor Operator within the Pulp & Paper segment.  

Responsibilities

This position has the primary responsibilities of manufacturing liquid polymers, including:

  • Charging, feeding, monitoring and controlling reaction vessels according to written procedures during the manufacture of finished products
  • Operation of a Distributed Control System and all reactor support equipment
  • Handling of various chemicals used in the manufacturing of products
  • Material transport via forklift
  • Housekeeping and reporting of safety hazards
  • Performing calculations
  • Other reasonable duties as assigned under proper supervision

Qualifications

What you need: 

  • Experience handling chemicals, operating pumps and valves, using computers.
  • Proven compliance with Quality, HSE & Process Safety policies and procedures.
  • Ability to execute Emergency Response procedures.

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Respirator use, frequent motor vehicle operation and use of manual dexterity.
  • Standing, walking, exposure to heat, dusts, fumes, chemical irritants. Potential exposure to respiratory irritants or sensitizers.
  • Sitting, squatting, bending. Working around moving machinery, from ladders, in contained areas.
  • Must be able to work all shifts – expect to work night shift following training period.
  • Must Frequently Lift 55+ pounds
