Compensation: $195,000.00 to $225,000.00 per year

Our client, a global manufacturing within the aerospace and energy industry, is hiring for a Director of Government Accounting for their division near Chicago. This role reports to the VP of Accounting Finance, and will be responsible for financial reporting, disclosures, and other government contract accounting compliance functions for the Company's Airframe division. The position is also responsible for enterprise-wide leadership for the shared services center, and for providing government contract accounting support within the Company. Specifically, this role will: 1) Identify and implement company-wide strategies specific to government contract accounting requirements 2) Identify, prioritize, and coordinate government contracting requirements within the Company's business units and corporate group. 3) Provide government contract accounting expertise as needed, and be the subject matter expert in regards to requirements, policy changes, and best practices to ensure compliance. 4) Ensure the business process of capturing, recording and summarizing financial/cost transactions comply with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and Cost Accounting Standards (CAS). 5) Prepare and maintain the Company's Disclosure Statements and supporting audits of the Disclosure Statements. 6) Oversee the preparation, submission, and negotiation Forward Pricing Rate Agreements, and the annual incurred cost submission to ensure compliance with all applicable regulations (FAR, CAS, etc.). Monitor direct rates, indirect rates, and factors for changes that would require supplemental disclosure and negotiation of new rates with appropriate government agencies. 7) Support program proposals, pricing, negotiations strategy, and Truth In Negotiations Act (TINA) certifications. 8) Provide leadership and act as the primary finance contact point with government organizations, such as the Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA), for all proposals, forward rates, disclosure statements, and other inquiries. 9) Perform routine internal audits and reviews to ensure compliance with government regulations and company policy. 10) Oversee the Company's compliance with applicable government contract accounting requirements, including corporate and home office considerations. Interested candidates for the Director, Government Accounting role should have 10+ years' experience within the aerospace or defense industry, CPA certification and a strong understanding of technical accounting and government regulations; specifically FAR, CAS, DFAR and TINA. Candidates should have prior experience in a Leadership role, and should have excellent communication and presentation skills.
