(HYG), a world-class manufacturer of industrial lift trucks, has an outstanding opportunity for an exceptional and talented Aftermarket Engineer I - II located in Danville, IL. The Parts Distribution Center (PDC) is the primary parts distribution center for the North America and several global export markets.

HYG designs, engineers, manufactures, sells and services a comprehensive line of lift trucks and aftermarket parts marketed globally under the Hyster and Yale brand names. We are one of the global leaders in the Material Handling industry and have been building relationships and partnering with our customers, suppliers, dealers and employees for over 90 years.

The Aftermarket Engineer I - II will resolves technical problems for the Americas HYG Aftermarket business. Primary responsibilities include completing part validation projects. The Aftermarket Engineer contributes to cost reduction projects and helps to support both margin and supply continuity initiatives. Aftermarket Engineers also resolve Dealer and Customer technical part inquiries and the engineer supports internal departments , including procurement, quality, customer service and operations.

The Aftermarket Engineer I - II will Provide the Following Key Accountabilities:
  • Serve as the main HYG engineering contact for Aftermarket Parts, including customers, dealers, marketing, procurement, PDC operations, quality, and inventory management to support Hyster, Yale, and other affiliate product.
  • Complete Engineering Change Notices and technical drawing revisions related to aftermarket part maintenance.
  • Manage engineering part validation projects in support of cost reduction and supply continuity.
  • Develop and Maintain hose and chain manufacturing bill of materials.
  • Work special projects as required and drive problem issues to resolution.


The Successful Aftermarket Engineer I - II Must Meet the Following Minimum Qualifications:

Aftermarket Engineer I:
  • BS degree in Engineering preferred, with 1-2 years relevant experience.
  • In lieu of BS degree, Engineering Technology degree and 5-7 relevant experience.
  • Practical knowledge of electrical, mechanical and hydraulic systems, mechanical construction, internal combustion engines and electric motors as applied to products marketed by Yale and Hyster.
  • Knowledge to interpret engineering drawing, wiring diagrams, schematics, welding procedures, etc..
  • Knowledge to complete engineering change notices and revise technical drawings.
  • Ability to query and interpret data to both identify opportunities and solve problems.
  • Knowledge of failure analysis. Working knowledge of lift truck applications related to stability, safety and efficient operation.
  • Knowledge of departmental and corporate policies and procedures and government and industry regulations concerning industrial trucks.
  • Specialized knowledge of lift truck applications related to stability, safety and efficient operation.
  • Detailed knowledge of departmental and corporate policies and procedures and government and industry regulations concerning industrial trucks.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills essential.


Aftermarket Engineer II:
  • BS degree in Engineering, preferred with 2-5years relevant experience in Lift truck mechanics and troubleshooting.
  • In lieu of degree, Engineering Technology Degree and 7-9+ years relevant experience
  • Practical knowledge of electrical, mechanical and hydraulic systems, mechanical construction, internal combustion engines and electric motors as applied to products marketed by Yale and Hyster.
  • Knowledge to interpret engineering drawing, wiring diagrams, schematics, welding procedures, etc.
  • Knowledge to complete engineering change notices and revise technical drawings.
  • Ability to query and interpret data to both identify opportunities and solve problems.
  • Knowledge of failure analysis. Working knowledge of lift truck applications related to stability, safety and efficient operation.
