AR Specialist Needed for Top Client in New Haven County!





Our client, headquartered in New Haven, is centered in the Northeast and is a third-generation, family-founded business with a strong network of operations throughout the U.S. They've grown tremendously through acquisition activity.


They are looking for an AR Specialist to join their team ASAP! The Accounts Receivable Specialist will be responsible for providing Accounts Receivable duties including, clerical, organizational and administrative services to ensure timely, efficient and accurate departmental billing processes. Responsible for providing support to the Accounts Receivable Supervisor and Accounts Receivable Manager.


The successful candidate will be a self-motivated and dynamic team player who is able to meet the demands of a growing business environment.



  • Work closely with other departments in order to address/resolve all outstanding items

  • Gathers, prepares and organizes data from multiple sources to be utilized during the billing processes

  • Monitors and reviews automated billing imports for accuracy

  • Accurately prepares and distributes invoices to customers (data entry)

  • Review and submittal of freight payments to vendors

  • Timely investigate and resolve customer inquiries through the Cherwell ticketing system

  • Reviews, reconciles and applies multiple cash receipts

  • Electronic document filing

  • Assist with telephone customer service coverage

  • Special projects assigned by AR Manager


EXPERIENCE REQUIRED FOR THIS A/R ROLE:



  • Minimum of an Associate's Degree in Accounting or Finance (Bachelor's Degree, preferred)

  • 1-3 years' experience

  • Excellent analytical, organizational, verbal and oral communication skills

  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize assignments

  • Attention to detail and ability to produce at a high level of accuracy and have the ability to meet deadlines

  • Ability to efficiently learn and utilize new software applications

  • Ability to work in a busy and dynamic team environment

  • Be able to handle miscellaneous projects as business needs require
