Job Description

Commercial general contractor that specializes in the healthcare industry seeking a Superintendent.

We are looking for a flexible, reliable, outgoing team player.
Full-time position.
Job Responsibilities will include:
Direct day to day supervision of field labor force including assistants, foreman, subcontractors, and other construction related personnel.
Develop, Maintain and update project schedule as necessary.
Schedule subcontractors, consultants, and vendors to ensure timely completion.
Perform quality control regarding the work being performed.
Communicate with the project team regarding ASI's, RFI's, submittals and material procurement.
Ensure the work is being performed to full compliance with the contract documents.
Coordinate all required inspection with the local jurisdiction.
Monitor job site safety.
Identify conflicts in construction progress and communicate them to the project team.
Maintain dally log of activities.
Monitor all current construction activities and assist in future planning.
Maintain complete as-built record documents.
Attend construction meetings with owner, architect and any other team members.

Work Environment:

Will be working out on a construction site. Typically either a desk in the facility where work is happening OR in job site trailer. First job site will be at UC Davis Medical Center in Sacramento. Future projects could be in Sac, SF, San Rafael (they need candidates to be flexible to traveling to job sites all over Nor Cal)

Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree; Preferably but not required, Construction Management Degree
(4) years of construction experience or more
Basic Computer Skills (Outlook, able to open a PDF, able to use an iPad)
Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
*Hard working and a self-starter with the ability to work independently
* Strong ability to multi-task
* Able to function well in a fast paced environment under tight deadlines
* Able to read and understand plans and be able to perform take-offs
* Preferably but not required, bilingual
* Willing to travel and work grave yard shifts
* Physically lift up to 100 lbs.

Additional compensation:

This is an hourly position- paid based off of how many hours they work per week.

Once they are brought on permanent they will be eligible for Medical/Dental/Vision benefits through the company. Gas card OR gas reimbursement during contract- company vehicle likely after contract.

There is potential for candidates to work overtime or be needed on the weekends so candidates must be flexible to that (typically only one weekend every other month as needed).


Typical project size between $500,000 and $5M from preconstruction to completion.
