Job Description

Job Description BAE Systems, one of the world's largest defense contractors and Fortune 500 Company, is seeking a Facilities Engineering Intern for Summer 2018 at the Radford Army Ammunition Plant in Radford, VA.

The successful candidate will support New NitroCotton Facility Team and be responsible for the following:
  • Surveying New NitroCotton Facility Rotating Equipment (Pumps, Centrifuges, Mixers, Fans and Motors)
  • Developing preventative and predictive maintenance schedules using vendor documentation
  • Making recommendations for additional preventative maintenance based on best engineering practices
Required Skills and Education
  • Currently enrolled and pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering or Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering
  • Must have completed at least two years of college (rising junior status or higher)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Access)
  • Experience with AutoCAD or Inventor
  • Must be available to work full-time for approximately 10-12 weeks between May – August
  • Must be willing to work a flexible work schedule Monday through Friday, typically between the hours of 7am - 4pm
Preferred Skills and Education
  • Experience working in a team environment
  • Demonstrated leadership ability
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
