The Residence Coordinator is a 12-month, full-time, live-in appointment that is responsible for creating a living/learning community, which contributes to the personal and academic success of residents through collaboration with students, staff and faculty. The size of each residence community ranges from 350 to 900 students.

The major functions are to supervise 10-20 Resident Assistants and to respond to a wide variety of student academic and personal development situations as well as participate in an emergency on-call duty rotation. Additionally, this position is responsible for the overall management of the complex including managing occupancy, following up on work orders for facility issues, successfully implementing administrative functions including the operation of a front desk, and managing the student conduct process.

The successful candidate should possess the ability to be responsible for the day-to-day operations of a housing facility and make decisions on their own that impact the residents of the building, the facility and the occupancy. After receiving appropriate training, the Residence Coordinator will be able to make decisions without major supervision and create policies and procedures for staff to follow in order to successfully operate the building.

REQUIRED: Master’s Degree from an accredited institution in College Student Personnel or a related program. Degree must be completed by May 2019.

Experience in higher education administration, private or collegiate housing management, student conduct, staff training and development, and budget oversight.

Preferred Qualifications 

Previous residence life experience that includes supervisor of student staff.
1-2 years of full-time housing experience.
