Off Shift Operations Manager

Job Description Summary

Job Description

Primary Job Description:

•Lead off-shift production of a ductile iron foundry

•Direct up to 6 Supervisors of 6 Departments

•Responsible for safety of up to 200 associates

•Ensure Safety training, communications, and audits are completed

•Perform proper investigations of safety, quality, and policy issues.

•Ensure continual adherence to Housekeeping and 5S standards in all areas

•Responsible for  off-shift production adherence to all quality standards

•Prioritize resources to maximize through-put

•Use visual management tools to ensure production targets are achieved

•Utilize proper communication to improve efficiency of shift-to-shift changeover

•Utilize waste reduction and creative thought processes to improve shop efficiencies

•Implement Corporate and Plant initiatives

•Lead and participate in cross-functional Kaizen teams to promote continuous improvement

​• Hours would be roughly 5pm-3am Monday-Friday with weekends as needed


Required Skills/Experience:

•Strong leadership and conflict resolution skills

•Excellent communication skills, written, verbal, and listening

•Proven problem solving and continuous improvement skills

•Motivated change-agent, builder of strong, effective teams

•Use data to make decisions

•Intermediate MS Excel skills

•Degree in Business Management or Engineering

•5 years experience in Manufacturing Management


Preferred Skills/Experience:

•Six Sigma Black Belt or Equivalent

•10-15 Years Senior Manufacturing Management in a foundry

•B.S./ M.S. in Engineering (Mechanical, Materials, Electrical, or Manufacturing)
