Job Description


The company is searching for a Design Engineer for a direct hire opportunity.

Primary duties of the role include owning product lines from start to finish; conceptual design, system modeling, test definition, post test data analysis, and technical documentation.

Perform parachute trajectory and loads analyses; will use commercial and in-house codes as well as write new simulation code Perform aerodynamic decelerator recovery system configuration development and trade studies
Perform parachute flight test data reduction, analysis, and interpretation
Conducts and/or leads design reviews, including preparation and presentation of technical review material at major Customer review meetings
Support the development and advancement of design capabilities and techniques
Interface with program managers, customers, and vendors


- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
- 7 to 10 years of experience as a mechanical engineer, design engineer
- Experience with Analysis
Additional experience:
Detailed and extensive knowledge of aeronautical, mechanical design principles, practices and procedures, (preferably with parachute technological design)
Familiarity with aerodynamic decelerators
Familiarity with fabric system design analysis
Experience with AutoCad and 3-D SolidWorks
Experience using LS-DYNA, Hypermesh, Optistruct, and other solid modeling and design tools is desired
Familiarity with trajectory analyses tools, and post-test analysis of data
Proficient using project management and planning tools, such as MS Project.
Familiarity with aerospace equipment design standards including inter alia, stress, GD&T, and drawing standards
