Acquisition Training Specialist
Looking for an Acquisition Training Specialist to join our team for a full-time remote position to support the U.S. Coast Guard.
A Day in the Life:
- Develop and create comprehensive training materials, including curriculum, process guides, presentations, example acquisition artifacts, and instructional videos to educate on the Government acquisition process.
- Collaborate with the CG-914 Contracting Office and C5ISC Procurement Law to ensure all training content is contractually and legally sufficient.
- Conduct three 40-hour online instructor-led courses, utilizing developed materials to train up to 90 students on the fundamentals of creating actionable acquisition packages.
- Cover key acquisition topics in training, such as defining needs, forming teams, reviewing strategies, performing market research, and formulating acquisition strategies.
- Facilitate the execution of strategies and performance management through support functions as part of the training curriculum.
- Possess knowledge, skills, and abilities to research, prepare, develop, and revise documents for PWS requirements.
- Handle acquisitions related to design, development, analysis, evaluation, deployment, installation, operation, maintenance, improvement, and/or retirement/decommissioning of C5I systems on CG assets, ashore or afloat.
- Understand and organize material according to FAR and DHS HSAM policies, USCG Acquisition Procedures (CGAP), and C5ISC acquisition job aids, desk guides, or process guides.

- Have education and/or skills in fields such as accounting, business, finance, law, contracts, purchasing, economics, industrial management, marketing, quantitative methods, or organization and management.
- Possess recent experience (within 2 years of contract award) in government acquisitions.
- Hold a FAC-C Professional or Legacy certification, or commercial equivalent.
- Have 3 to 5 years of recent experience in government acquisition planning, market research, aiding government in requirements development, defining evaluation factors, and Purchase Request package development for at least 5 Government acquisitions valued over $3M.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
- Must be able to pass a government background check.
- Must be a US Citizen.
