Job Details
The Mechanical Senior Project Engineer collaborates with the Principal Engineer and/or Chief Engineer to provide leadership and direction to the mechanical department, focusing on project production management. This role supports the Principal Engineer in planning and executing both billable and non-billable mechanical workloads. It requires leadership, independent judgment, and the management of department-level mechanical engineering tasks, which may include mechanical design (plumbing/HVAC), project management, and other project-related functions.
The ideal candidate should demonstrate expertise in all aspects of Mechanical Engineering, including HVAC and plumbing system design, and possess strong project management skills. This includes coordinating manpower assignments, managing project financials, and having an in-depth understanding of the mechanical building industry, codes, and standards. The Senior Project Engineer is also responsible for fostering strong relationships with both existing and new clients and serving as a leader within the Firm. Additionally, this role involves mentoring and developing staff by working on projects and leading classes or seminars.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering
- 10+ years of experience as a mechanical engineer
- Professional Engineering license in California or ability to obtain within 6 months of employment
- Experience managing a team of engineers and projects
