DIVISION PROFILE BakerRipley provides an integrated holistic education system for families and their children ages six months through eighth grade. The Choices in Education division oversees the early childhood education programs and the BakerRipley Inc. Schools, including three community-based elementary schools, one middle school, and a "New Neighbor" school for refugee children - all of which reside within our community centers. Our holistic approach to educating the entire family allows us to create a stronger and more positive impact in the community. Both children and their parents gain access to education and broader community resources to prepare them for a successful degree and/or career.
1) JOB SUMMARY:
Prepares nutritious meals according to United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) guidelines and maintains compliance with all local, state and federal food and health regulations.
2) CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Follows standardized recipes to prepare all meals and makes appropriate food substitutions with similar nutritional value when necessary. 2. Prepares appropriate meals for special dietary children daily. 3. Completes Daily Meal Production Record (Form 1530) prior to serving meals daily. 4. Orders food and milk as necessary from appropriate food and dairy vendors. 5. Maintains safe and sanitary practices in preparing, transporting, and serving food which includes keeping kitchen and all kitchen equipment and supplies sanitary. 6. Maintains proper storage area using the First-In-First-Out (FIFO) method. 7. Empties kitchen wastebaskets, transports trash and waste to disposal area. 8. Compiles and maintains departmental records. 9. Must be able to operate standard kitchen equipment including small and large appliances. 10. Performs other job duties as assigned.
Minimum High School Diploma or GED
YEARS OF EXPERIENCE:
A minimum of (1) year work related experience
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
County of Fort Bend Food Managers Certification or able to obtain within 6 months of hire.
* Knowledge of safety practices as they relate to young children. * Good written and oral communications skills. * Experience and demonstrated ability in working with young children and families.
Bilingual English/Spanish preferred but not required.
