Our customers are leading Original Equipment Manufacturers who require exacting precision mechanical production capabilities. Our product lines include the, Aerospace, Healthcare Scientific Instrumentation, and complex electro-mechanical equipment. Our Capabilities Include:
• Precision CNC 5-Axis Milling and Turning
• Precision 5-Axis Grinding of Aerospace Turbine Engine Nozzles and Blades
• Close Tolerance (Micron level) Instrumentation Grinding
• Electrical Discharge Machining (EDM) NADCAP approved
• Complex Electro-Mechanical assembly and test (Class 1K & 10K clean room)
• Functional testing
• Medium to Large Coordinate Measuring Capabilities Manufacturing Engineer III Job Summary Our Precision Technologies Division in Tempe, AZ is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer that has the drive, integrity, knowledge, education, determination, experience, and ability to help drive our success. The Manufacturing Engineer will provide the technical manufacturing liaison required for the production of high quality products from the design phase through all phases of production between the Program, Procurement, Assembly, and Quality Departments to promote an efficient and well organized manufacturing operation. Experience with Assembly machining and 5axis grinding, and machining highly desirable.

Essential Functions and Competencies

•Serves as mentor to lower level engineers
•Effective organization and prioritization skills
•Effective interpersonal skills.
•Completes projects in a timely manner.
•Supports a 24/7 global business operation as required.
•Demonstrates discretion, confidentiality, independent judgment, and professionalism when representing the company.
•Excellent written and verbal communication, as well as, presentation skills.
•Works individually or in teams.
•Understands and uses continuous improvement tools.
•Participates in a continuous improvement activity with complete documentation including a follow up with the team in a presentation format.
•Demonstrates the ability to solve and document moderately complex cross departmental issues using structured problem solving tools.
•Demonstrates engineering level understanding mechanical components and systems depending upon education and related experience background
•Able to travel up to 20% of time including day, overnight or international travel as required.

Qualifications / Education / Experience

•Chair cross-functional NPI reviews to ensure the product design lends itself to practical, economical manufacturing techniques.
•Review customer engineering design drawings for compatibility with “state-of-the-art” manufacturing processes.
•Coordinates with the Methods and Tooling groups and provides the technical product or specification drawing interpretations required for the design and fabrication of tools, fixtures, and process methods instructions.
•Define Statistical Process Control Key features, monitor CpK and perform necessary process improvement.
•Participate in Material Review Board (MRB) activities and takes an active role in the dispositioning of discrepant components and assemblies.
•Provides manufacturing assembly floor and machine tool cell layouts required to promote an efficient flow of product through the various manufacturing processes.
•Conducts any special manufacturing projects, evaluations or surveys as directed by management.
•Assumes a lead technical role in make/buy evaluations.
•Monitors day to day production activities for complex machining / manufacturing processes and makes recommendations on material and/or labor reductions to promote efficiency of operation.
•Serves as mentor to lower level engineers.

5+ years manufacturing engineering experience with complex technical projects; 3+ years experience leading technical projects and cross functional strategic initiatives Experience with Aerospace machining and 5axis grinding highly desirable.

4 year engineering or technical degree required
