Career Opportunity:
GAINSCO Auto Insurance has an immediate opening on our Material Damage Leadership Team for a Material Damage Reinspector. This position will support our Centralized Total Loss and Desk Review Teams, as well as, assist our auto physical damage field operations across the organization.

Job Requirements

Job Purpose:
Review our Total Loss Team and Desk Review work product to assess consistency, efficiency and accuracy. Assist with the reinspection of staff appraisers, Independent Appraisers and program shops to maintain superior quality service and high standards of performance. Lead our initiative to build and deliver effective technical training that will develop and improve team outcomes.
Responsibilities:
  • Conduct accuracy and compliance reviews of our Total Loss and Desk Review Teams
  • Conduct field reinspections of completed appraisals and review for accuracy
  • Audit appraiser estimates and Team Leader reviews for accuracy, efficiency, and compliance.
  • Lead our initiative to build and deliver effective Material Damage technical training that will develop and improve estimating performance
  • Improve team performance by identifying opportunity areas
  • Assist Team Leaders, Managers, and Reinspectors by developing appraiser skills
  • Submit timely and effective assessments to leadership that identify areas of opportunity and outline the skills required to improve outcomes.
  • Assist with leading auto physical damage technical calibrations with Material Damage leadership
  • Lead assigned project initiatives that support the operation
  • Assist the CAT Team during storm response as needed
  • Effectively communicate with staff, management, and personnel in various departments.
  • Other duties as assigned that support the success of the Material Damage operation
Job Requirements:
  • 5+ years experience in writing auto damage appraisals
  • Ability to demonstrate an advanced level of auto appraisal technical skills
  • Expert technical trainer skills and delivery
  • Expertise in estimating systems and reporting
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to lead, direct, train, and coach staff
  • Prior Material Damage leadership preferred
  • Auto insurance claims experience is required
  • 50 – 60% travel required
  • I-Car training and ASE Certification preferred
  • Auto body shop experience is a plus
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
