Electrical Manufacturing Engineering Technician

Summary: The Electrical Manufacturing Engineering Technician manages projects and provides technical support for manufacturing process development, controls, startup, and continuous improvement. This is a fast-paced, hands-on, manufacturing engineering position.

Position Requirements:

1. Management of electrical control equipment programs for new and existing products, including cost estimation, justification, design, development, implementation, and validation.

2. Machine control and test device specification, design review, and commissioning.
3. Technical problem solving and continuous improvement initiatives.
4. Read blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematic drawings, & engineering instructions for assembling electronics units, applying knowledge of electronic theory & components.
5. Ability to use using hand tools, soldering iron & measuring instruments.
6. Collaborate with engineers and other personnel to identify, define, and solve problems.
7. Continually improve manufacturing processes & procedures.
8. Manage multiple projects, goals, and deadlines simultaneously.
9. Lead and proactively participate in cross-functional teams.
10. Communicate and gain consensus within all levels of the organization.

Job Requirements

Education: Advanced degree in related field or 3 years of relevant experience in engineering

Preferred Skills & Qualifications:

• Manufacturing processes and electrical equipment such as Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), electro-mechanical controls, motor controllers, conveyance, etc
• In-depth knowledge of panel building and assembly.
• Technical and electrical/mechanical problem solving.
• Testing and measurement techniques and procedures.
• Document release and revision control.
• Lean Manufacturing.
• Cad experiences a plus in AutoCad, Eplan, PromisE.
• Basic Knowledge of NFPA, IEC, CE, UL Standards and practices.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to walk, sit and/or stand throughout an eight or ten-hour day.
• Must be able to consistently lift 35 lbs. from a floor or table position to chest high using a proper lifting technique.
• Some operations require the operator to push and/or pull objects to a machine or/on a cart.

• Must be able to repetitively use arms, hands, & fingers in the manipulation of parts.
• Must demonstrate good hand/eye coordination & good manual dexterity.
