Regional Field Service Manager

Position Summary:
The Regional Field Service Manager is responsible for traveling to distributor, dealer, and customer locations to resolve customer issues that the typical service network is unable to do. This person must be able to work unsupervised in remote locations for extended periods as necessary.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  •  Travel to OEM’s, distributors, dealers, and service yards to assist in the diagnosis and repair of Yanmar products
  • Test and evaluate engine and system performance in the field as well as in our shop
  • Write reports documenting customer contacts with the steps taken to resolve the issues
  • Review and update Customer Relationship Database (CRM) to track dealer and customer activities
  • Assist with distributor and dealer onsite training
  • Assist distributors and dealers with new engine installations at OEM’s
  • Tear down, inspection, and diagnosis of engines and transmissions at Yanmar factory
  • Assist in the inspection of returned engines and parts to identify failure mode
  • Perform Product Improvement Programs (PIP’s) in the field as directed
  • Perform “zero hour” repairs at OEM’s
  • Assist in maintaining fleet of company vehicles
  • Identify problem trends, summarize problem history and provide guidance on resolution.
  • Review failure analysis results and exercise judgment in determining if claims are warrantable
  • Support Industrial, Agriculture, Construction and Utility Vehicles product lines, dealers, engine centers and distributors.
  • Support Yanmar dealers with parts issues
  • Promote parts and service programs on an as needed basis.
  • Evaluate dealer performance from a parts and service prospective and provide feedback to dealer and back to YA HQ.
  • Support trades shows, training and dealer events as necessary

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of Yanmar products.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Maintain valid driver’s license and passport.
  • Remains calm and professional under pressure or stress.
  • Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work 8+ hours per day in a plant/office setting.
  • Appropriately interact with others in stressful and busy situations.
  • Must be able to travel, sometimes on very short notice.
Job Requirements
  • Minimum five years’ experience in diesel engine and transmission diagnostics and repair
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel & PowerPoint)
  • Must have a valid driver license and passport
  • Must be able to travel to assist OEM’s/Distributors/Dealers
  • Must be able to travel, sometimes on very short notice.
  • This position is a full time and based in Adairsville, GA.
