Value Stream Lead Engineer

Job Description

Job Summary & Essential Functions: The Value Stream Lead Engineer has the responsibility for communicating , supporting, and executing business goals and programs by converting them into engineering tools and processes for the value stream and key suppliers. The position will utilize lean tools and procedures within a Value Stream atmosphere to minimize process variation to reduce delays throughout the value stream and accelerate product flow through the production lines. This position is responsible for taking proactive measures to meet daily commitments, eliminate waste and make the business better every day. Achieves the highest levels of internal and external customer service. To accomplish these objectives the Value Stream Lead Engineer will lead a team of direct reports including manufacturing engineers and engineering technicians .

Skills & Qualifications

Required experience/education/training : To perform this job successfully, an individual must possess the outlined experience level, education, training, minimum years of experience, product or industry knowledge plus any certifications in order to be considered.

  • BS in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Technology, Material Science, or related field. Minimum 8 years related experience in job function and/or training.
  • Three to five years of experience in manufacturing environment required, aerospace manufacturing preferred.
  • Prior personnel management experience preferred.
  • Experience must include exposure of at least one of the following processes: Additive, Welding, Assembly, Metallurgy, or Machining

Licenses, Certifications, etc.:

  • Lean Practitioner, ACE Associate/Practitioner, Six Sigma Greenbelt or higher, or equivalent certification preferred.
