Job Introduction
The Program Team Die Engineer (PTDE) must demonstrate experience in the planning and construction of medium and large sheet metal dies. Must have a sophisticated understanding of automation, dies, equipment and metal technology as it relates to the automotive industry. Experience with Class A stamping and large sheet metal dies a must.

Major Responsibilities
* Follow and enforce all safety policies and procedures * Responsible for direct contact to OEM development and planning group for new product development, feasibility, SE and change management. * Responsible for development of initial process concept including developments, optimized blank sizes and preparation of such for presentation to team and Customers. * Responsible to ensure product and process meet required SE parameters for formability >20% thinning. Process must be in control and capable to meet customer required tolerance CPK <1.33. * Responsible for preparing RFQ's with the Business Manager (or designee)and sending to assigned toolshops to obtain tooling quotes for new programs or engineering changes to existing programs. * Responsible for die design review and follow up with designated tool shop to ensure tools meet required standards and timelines as defined by the program milestones. * Responsible for all pre production CPMP/APQP requirements, FMEA, Control plan and Manufacturing quality and work instruction development. * Assures appropriate documentation of process (A & B layouts), equipment and systems. * Responsible to work closely with Assembly Process Engineer in a cross functional environment to ensure all stampings delivered to Assembly meet the required specifications. * Responsible to follow assigned tools through home line try-out ,PPAP process and SOP +90 days with smooth transition and hand off to Manufacturing. * Responsible to monitor that all project gates are maintained and escalate all project related problems to the Program Manager in a timely manner. * Responsible to work closely with Business Manager and Sales coordinators to prepare quotations. * Responsible to support the Program Manager with all required tracking and reporting documentation as required. * Supports production with respect to Engineering. * Supports the Unified Effort Within Cosma. * Promote good housekeeping (5S). * Perform other duties as required.

Knowledge and Education
* Bachelor Degree in a technical related discipline and/ or 5 plus years related automotive experience with sound understanding of BIW build fit & function. * Must have an understanding in the following areas: Die / die process, assembly tooling, welding & sealer applications, CMM & datum alignment, data processing & reporting, customer tolerancing concepts, working knowledge of catia V4/V5. * Strong computer skills including Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Power Point, Project, Word. * Strong interpersonal and organizational skills. * Strong leadership skills.

CORE COMPETENCIES * Applicable laws, rules, regulations and/or policies and procedures; * Research methods, techniques, and/or sources of information; * Excellent knowledge of principles, theories and practices of Project Management; * Excellent tooling skills from planning to launching * Excellent skills in equipment planning and installation for assembly equipment * Excellent knowledge regarding quality expectations, planning and implementation within new projects * Excellent skills regarding Automotive product launches * Excellent product knowledge in Class-A, B and C for the automotive industry * Familiar with all quality related methods and tools such as but not limited to CPMP, APQP, FMEA, etc. * Excellent customer relationships COMMUNICATION SKILLS Ability to read and interpret all data reports, financial documents, customer technical reports for data tracking. Ability to create technical documents to convey issues, status and corrective action. Ability to effectively present all material relating to job description for management support &/or decision making process. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability, statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. REASONING ABILITY Ability to define problems through solid root cause analysis with data / information collection, establish factual information and determine a path to resolution.

Work Environment
Office environment in a manufacturing facility. 60% in the office, 40% on the shop floor
