We are seeking a talented Structural Forensic Engineer for our engineering services team in Dallas, TX.  At GHD, we offer comprehensive engineering, environmental, geotechnical, engineering design, construction, forensic engineering and litigation support services.  This is an opportunity to leverage your local knowledge and be involved in challenging projects that will offer an opportunity to provide technical solutions.

We are sought as qualified experts to provide insight into concerns regarding virtually all aspects of facility operations, construction and environmental impacts.

The successful candidate will have experience within the Dallas area with a well-rounded working knowledge of structural systems.  We are seeking someone who is interested in design, analysis and evaluation of residential and commercial buildings to determine cause and extent of structural damage as well as provide repair recommendations to clients. 

We are seeking self-motivated and active networkers who value building credible relationships with clients and the community. You'll need to be flexible in your approach to challenges, and have a strong ability to think laterally in delivering project solutions.

The ideal candidate will have a background in the diagnosis of existing buildings and recommendation of corresponding repairs as well as the following:

  • B.S. degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or a related field
  • 2-5 years of structural engineering experience
  • PE in the State of Texas is a plus
  • At least two years of forensic engineering experience performing building assessments and failure analysis with report preparation
  • Working knowledge of structural systems and foundation design/analysis/construction  
  • Design/analysis experience with reinforced concrete, masonry, wood, and steel 
  • Working knowledge of building codes and experience reviewing building plans and specifications
  • Structural analysis software (RISA, STADD, etc.) a plus
