Robert Half Finance is looking for an accomplished, motivated Staff Accountant for a full-time position within a prestigious Retail company. As Staff Accountant, you will prepare journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance and general ledger reconciliation. During the monthly close, various aspects of internal reporting will be under your responsibility. Lend your skills towards developing and implementing accounting policies. In addition, you will review schedules for the 10Q and 10K reporting processes, take part in SOX compliance, and interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits. This position plays an intricate part in producing Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. Located in the Seattle, Washington area, this position is a challenging, multi-faceted opportunity to work for a company that recognizes and rewards hard work. Key responsibilities - Manage schedules for capital lease and monthly payments - Take part in various department-wide initiatives - Special projects and impromptu reporting, upon request - Become well-versed in month end balance sheet account reconciliations - Maintain depreciation, fixed asset ledgers, and reconciliation - Support the month end, quarter end and year end closing process by preparing monthly financial close workbooks - Compose thorough journal entries and account reconciliations which include, but are not limited to, cash, prepaid expenses, and payroll - Conduct month end close and compose journal entries with minimal supervision - Maintain intercompany transactions, billings, and reconciliation - Produce analyses for monthly balance sheets and income statements for reporting by management - Regularly maintain and reconcile journal entries - Organize and review various financial data, then report it in a manner that is useful and understandable - Maintain, implement, and adhere to internal controls under SOX. Also ensure that accounting procedures comply with GAAP

Job Requirements

- Previous experience in public accounting is highly valued - General proficiency in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel preferred - At least 2 years of Accounting experience - Commitment and abilities to meet critical business deadlines - NetSuite, SAP, Blackline, and ADP skills - Takes action on items beyond formal job responsibilities - Accounts receivable experience required - Month end closings experience - Outstanding organizational, written and verbal communication skills required - CPA certification a plus - Comfortable working in a changing and dynamic environment - Proven analytical skills - defining problems, collecting relevant data, drawing valid conclusions, and recommending improvement/corrective actions - Attention to detail and ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement - BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics preferred
