Nissan is seeking a dynamic individual for an IS Intern in our Franklin, TN location. This position is on the Data Management & Analytics IS team which includes: data architecture, business intelligence, analytics, and Nissan's Big Data platform. In addition to serving all internal IS groups as a data services group, the direct business areas supported by this team include Customer Experience/, Total Customer Satisfaction, and Sales & Marketing Analytics. The specific activities and initiatives the intern will support are: Data Management & Analytics support for Informatica, Tableau, and Hortonworks platforms including process improvements and engagement with project teams to support enhancements Assist with the definition and initial cycles of the Data Scientist interaction model, including data curation/refinery in the Hortonworks environment Assist with agile rapid prototyping and advancing the data discovery process & engagement model with new Tableau users Work with IS business analysts and project managers to determine and implement requirements for process improvements and development project involvement Assist with demand work to improve data quality & enhancement delivery Support Data Architects with enterprise data glossary and data governance tools The Data Architecture/Data Warehouse/Business Intelligence team is a rapidly evolving Information Systems group. Process improvements are needed to support our business customers. In addition, these process changes will drive quality improvement and department efficiency/effectiveness. Current project work also provides a channel for value where an intern can assist the team with meeting business expectations through project assignments. Intern will learn core foundational processes and tools in Information Technology field, and have direct exposure to projects within the business areas that the Data Management & Analytics team supports. The internship includes gaining a full understanding of Business Analyst, Data Architect, and Data Engineer roles & responsibilities. Education Requirements: Eligible candidates must be currently enrolled in an accredited undergraduate or graduate program. Please include major, year, GPA, specific classes, etc. Major in computer science or computer information systems with completed coursework in at least one programming class and/or project management. Strong verbal and written English communication skills are mandatory.
