Our client has moved into a brand new machine shop located right beside the existing shop in Downers Grove.
Must perform duties to set up and operate a number of different computerized numerical controlled machine tools to perform a wide range of turning, drilling and tapping operations on various complex component parts of mechanical shaft seals in a work cell environment in a production mode.
Duties: Machine and install or recut chuck jaws as required.
Insert and secure tooling in machine turrets.
Download and upload programs into the machine.
Setup and verify preset gauges for calibration.
Inspect own work for correct dimensions and ensure quality and quantity standards are maintained and documented.
Work with new product development team to assist with design manufacturability.
Rotate between work centers as need and run multiple machines.
Supports continuous improvement activities.

Minimum of three years experience and proficiency in operating CNC lathe and mills, with advanced knowledge and experience with setting up machines. Multi axis experience a must.
Work from process sheets, advanced reading and interpreting blueprints, set up sheets, set up cards, machine status boards, and verbal as well as written instructions.
Must be able to pass written machinist test.
Requires a high school education or equivalent.
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
