Robert Half Finance is looking for a talented, accurate Staff Accountant to fill a full-time position within an innovative company. The Staff Accountant will prepare journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance and general ledger reconciliation. This intricate position is involved in the production of Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. This is a challenging, multi-faceted opportunity in the Troy, Michigan area, at a company where effort is rewarded. Your responsibilities in this role - Maintain company transactions, billings, and reconciliation - Conduct month end close and compose journal entries with minimal supervision - Survey and organize various financial data, reporting it in a useful and understandable manner - Play a part in a variety of department-wide initiatives - Compose thorough journal entries and account reconciliations which include, but are not limited to, cash, prepaid expenses, and payroll - Periodic maintenance and reconciliation of journal entries - Thorough experience with month end balance sheet account reconciliations - Support the month end, quarter end and year end closing process, which includes monthly financial close workbook preparation - Maintain depreciation, fixed asset ledgers, and reconciliation - Assemble analyses for monthly balance sheets and income statements for management reporting

Job Requirements

- Ability to work in a dynamic and changing environment - Reliable skills in Microsoft Office with excellent Excel skills - Ability to meet deadlines - BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics preferred - Mature organizational, written and verbal communication skills - Journal entries experience - Expertise in fixed assets - Bank reconciliations experience - Experience with general ledger - Comprehensive knowledge of month end closings - Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills - Attention to detail and ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement - At least 3+ years of Accounting experience - Self-starter, ability to identify issues and resolve problems
