Robert Half Finance is looking for a Staff Accountant for a full-time opportunity with a fast-growing company. In this position, the Staff Accountant prepares journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance and general ledger reconciliation. Throughout the monthly close, you will also be responsible for various aspects of internal reporting. You will assist in developing and implementing accounting policies. In addition, you will participate in SOX compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules for the 10Q and 10K reporting processes. This intricate position is involved in the production of Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. This Washington, District of Columbia area-based position is a challenging, multi-faceted opportunity to work for a company that recognizes and rewards hard work. Major responsibilities - Maintain intercompany transactions, billings, and reconciliation - In-depth experience with month end balance sheet account reconciliations - Organize and review a variety of financial data, reporting it in a way that is useful and understandable - Partake in a variety of department-wide initiatives - Regularly maintain and reconcile journal entries - Contribute to the implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls under SOX and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP - Organize schedules for monthly payments and capital lease - Prepare monthly balance sheet and income statement analyses for management reporting - Manage depreciation, fixed asset ledgers, and reconciliation - Support the month end, quarter end and year end closing process, which includes monthly financial close workbook preparation - Ad hoc reporting and performing special projects upon request - Produce journal entries and perform the month end close under minimal supervision - Produce complex journal entries and account reconciliations which include, but are not limited to, cash, prepaid expenses, and payroll

Job Requirements

- Experience with NetSuite, SAP, Blackline, and ADP - Attention to detail and proven ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement - Commitment and abilities to meet critical business deadlines - Seizes opportunities to produce results without direct supervision - Strong analytical skills, with the ability to exercise good judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analysis - CPA an added bonus - At least 1+ years of Accounting experience - BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics preferred - Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic and constantly changing company environment - Foundational knowledge in bank reconciliations - Job costing experience - Expertise in accounts receivable - Accounts payable experience desired - Prior experience in a public accounting environment is highly valued - Reliable skills in Microsoft Office with excellent Excel skills - Fully formed organizational, written and verbal communication skills
